Bevat o.a chemische / alchemistische hss. Witkam: Groepsportret met dame, I, p. 382-383: 'Georgius Hornius (1620-1670) was een man die sneller schreef dan God kon lezen. Zelf had hij maar één oog, maar volgens Lucaë zag hij daar meer mee dan anderen met twee. Toch lette hij niet altijd op. Door een Haagse charlatan, die voorwendde goud te kunnen maken, werd hij, naar verluidt, vijfduizend gulden lichter gemaakt.'
